AFSTA though the SG Dr. Yacouba Diallo together with Ms. Catherine Langat and Charles Nyachae of the Secretariat today met with the Bayer Team through the Head Head of Regulatory Science, Ms. Nadine Dushimiyimana & Mr. Steve Mburu at their offices and discussed on how to strengthen partnerships through tackling some key challenges, focusing on:
- Strengthening regional seed movement & trade such as using the harmonized regulations of the REC’s
- Building capacity in international seed certification schemes
- Combating counterfeit seeds through supporting stronger policies, cross-border collaboration, and farmer awareness and sensitization.
- Supporting the implementation of harmonized regulations for a thriving seed sector.
