Last week, our esteemed Board Member, Lynette Ngila of the Seed Trade Association of Kenya (STAK), represented the seed sector as part of a legal delegation before the Kenyan Senate Agriculture Committee.
The delegation successfully presented the industry’s official position on the Seeds and Plant Varieties (Amendment) Bill, 2025 (Senate Bills No. 4 of 2025). We strongly emphasized the need for a clear, balanced regulatory framework that simultaneously supports agricultural productivity and competitiveness while safeguarding the interests of both farmers and seed industry investors.
A balanced regulatory environment is critical to advancing Kenya’s agricultural future. Kenya Plant Health Inspectorate Service – Kephis , Wellington Wasike , Joyce Karanja, Betty Kiplagat BetterSeedBetetrLife SeedIndustry KenyanAgriculture Policy
