On Thursday, January 16, 2025, the Malian Seed Association (ASSEMA) held a meeting with the Secretary General of the Ministry of Agriculture, who represented the Minister, unable to attend. The purpose of the meeting was to present a range of concerns to the Ministry, including:
– The application of VAT on imported seeds
– The international expansion of ASSEMA’s seed marketing efforts
– The establishment of a consultation framework for stakeholders in the seed sector

The discussion was conducted in a spirit of cordiality and constructive dialogue. The Secretary General assured the representatives of ASSEMA that their grievances would be forwarded to the relevant authorities and committed to ensuring that the necessary steps would be taken to address the concerns raised.
